The Second Annual Spokane Travel and Adventure Expo was again the place to be in Spokane. Rick Sweitzer, Regional Director of Princess Cruise Lines said in utter disbelief that he sold more cruise packages in the first TWO HOURS of the Spokane Show than he did in his entire two day stay at the Travel Show in Seattle. This speaks to the simple fact that the Spokane travel market's incredible sales potential continues to fly under most people's radar. Just about every vendor ran out of material and had to make a run to get more copies made. The crowds were large and the buyers were qualified. The seminars were packed, the interest phenomenal and most of all, the people were buying! The Second Annual Travel & Adventure Expo had close to 2500 qualified attendees. Vendors offering a wide range of quality travel options were available with extensive literature as well as fun booth giveaways. Vendors representing regional travel options included Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. Internation travel experts, including curises, were available. And specialty trips such as whitewater rafting, wine tours and house boating were well represented. The International Marketplace vendors added a wonderful feel to the show. Incredible, one of kind products, crafts, organic coffees and natural beauty supplies were offered. These vendors are committed to the free trade concept offering unique products from around the world and guaranteeing a fair wage and humane working conditions while preserving the unique art forms and cultures of the artisans. There was fabulous entertainment throughout the day. The house band Nobody Famous, the band that should be famous, played fun-in-the-sun music. The Gonzaga Pacific Islands Club entertained with Hawaiian music hula during two performances. And Haji the Belly dancer awed the crowd. A wide range of seminars took place in the afternoon. Topics included Everything You Have Ever Wanted to Know About Cruising to How to Pack Light. Vendors donated more than 30 door prizes including a cruise from Cruise West, a Mexican Getaway from Mexico Unlimited, airline tickets, lodging and much more. Over 1200 attendees filled out a door prize entry form. Congratulations to all those winners! |
